The power of Grasshopper
- [Instructor] The most effective prototypes are learning tools. They allow a designer to clarify requirements and explore a solution space of possible design alternatives. In this video, I will explain some of the features in Rhino's Grasshopper plugin that make it an ideal prototyping tool. Specifically, I will show how Grasshopper makes it easy to give stakeholders access to prototypes and rapidly adjust input parameters and their relationships within a model. Lastly but most importantly, we will review how Grasshopper makes it easy to generate lots of prototypes and use the resulting data to evaluate fitness and make decisions in the design process. Rhino and Grasshopper are designed to easily import and export to and from other types of software. The software is designed for flexibility and extensibility, playing nice with all the other softwares typically found in an architectural design practice.
