Choosing a resolution and field of view for still photos
- Unlike shooting video where you have separate controls over resolution and field-of-view. These two settings are essentially combined when you're shooting photographs. You'll note that you have a setting called megapixels and tapping this gives us a handful of choices. For example we can choose between NARROW, MEDIUM, the new LINEAR field-of-view, and WIDE. Now really what's happening here is the control is the field-of-view. In past versions of the GoPro software changing the field-of-view would affect the total megapixel count but now we have a consistent resolution across all megapixels. You'll notice here that there are four choices. The NARROW field-of-view serves like a close-up. This is going to really punch in on the action. Essentially it's like zooming but it's not digitally zooming and the lens isn't changing, it's just changing which part of the sensor that you're using. The MEDIUM option is a wider shot but a more standard composition. and it has a little bit of lens…
