Why does performance matter?

Why does performance matter?

- [Instructor] Performance has become a key metric for the success of websites and apps. So much, in fact, Google uses performance metrics to rank sites in their search engine. Poorly performing sites get lower ranking. But search engine preference is not the main reason you should focus on performance. The end user, the human beings visiting your website, is the real reason. Almost all performance optimizations and best practices center around either reducing the size of data sent to the user, or speeding up the user experience by simplifying tasks and improving code quality. Both of these reasons have to do with our duty of care to the end user. All we know about the person visiting our site or app is that they want to interact with it.
