- [Voiceover] So sometimes GRE math questions are fairly abstract. There are few or maybe even no numbers in the question. So one of the techniques that you can use to make these questions a little more concrete and easier is to simply add numbers to them. In this video I'll demonstrate what I call the adding numbers technique. So, here we have a question. We've got a circle, circle A with a diameter that is six times the diameter of circle B. We're being asked what the ratio of the area of A is to the area of B. Okay, so first of all, let's draw a quick sketch of the circles. So let's call this circle A and let's call this circle B. I know they're not really to scale but we don't really need them to be. So to make this more concrete, let's actually pretend we know how big these things are. So let's say circle A has a diameter of, let's say 12 and let's say circle B's diameter is two. Those numbers check out. We have to follow the rules of the problem. Circle A's diameter is six times…
