Basic probability

- [Voiceover] Probability begins a lot of times with a coin flip discussion, so this is probably the easiest way to think about probability. Let's say I have a coin and I'm flipping it. What are the odds that I get heads on a coin? Well, here's how we think of probability in terms of math. Let's say the bottom of the fraction is the total number of possibilities, and on top is the number of desired event, or kind of the number of what we want. So let's say we want to get heads on a coin. How many heads are there on a coin? There are one, and then there's two possibilities, so the probability is a half, or 50%. Then what's the probability of getting tails? Well the same thing, right, 50%. You'll notice that in the probability events or experiments, everything is gonna add up to one. So now let's think about a different event. Let's think about rolling a six-sided die. Let's say, what's the probability that we get a six? Well, on a die there are six sides, and there's one six on them…
