Detail questions
- [Voiceover] For certain Reading Comprehension questions, understanding the entire passage isn't as necessary, because the question just pertains to a specific part of the passage. So in this video, I'll talk about how you might handle, what I call, Detail Questions. So here we have an example of a Detail Questions, and this is part of a longer passage. So let's just look at the question here on the right. According to the passage, Tolkien used which of the following to show his views on the environment in The Lord of the Rings? So a lot of times, the Detail Question is gonna be just answered by a specific part of the passage, so eventually you'll look through the passage, and hopefully find the part that you think will help you answer the question. So if we look at that sentence: Casting the antagonists of The Lord of the Rings as those who trampled and sought to usurp nature let him underscore the plight of that natural environment that remained. That's answering the question…
