- [Voiceover] Sometimes you might be asked to find the distance between two points in the coordinate plane. So let's say I had a couple points. So this point is two negative two and this point is two, one, two, three, four, five, two five, okay. So notice that these points have the same x-coordinate. That's kinda handy, to find the distance between them, we just need to know how far we travel in the y direction. So let's think about it, if we travel from negative two all the way up to positive five, we have traveled seven, 'cause five minus negative two is seven so this line would be seven in length. And we can do the same thing if we have to measure in the horizontal direction. So let's say I had a point over here, negative two negative two. So in this case notice that the y-coordinates have the same value so we just need to see how far we travel in the x direction. So to get from negative two to positive two we can kind of just count and see that it's one, two, three, four so that…
