- [Voiceover] In this video, I'll introduce you to the concept of exponents and explain what they mean. So, exponents are just kind of a way of noting things to make it little bit more concise, so if I said that two squared, well that's just the same thing as two times two. Likewise, if I said two cubed, that's just two times two times two. It just saves us a little room to write things. Same thing applies for variables. If I said x squared, that's the same thing as x times x. It's pretty to understand the notation, I think. Another thing you should know how to do is if you see the phrase square of an integer, so if I said like, 16 is the square of what integer? 16 is the square of four, so the square of four is kind of the same thing as four squared. So, just another bit of language to clarify. So, let me introduce you to a couple of rules. What if I had two to the third times two squared?
