- Research skills are important for any educated person. Hopefully, by now you realize, you can't simply rely on Google for everything you might need. In fact, numerous studies show that employers have noted they expect college graduated to have certain skills. Very high on their list is the ability to locate, organize, and evaluate information. Issac Newton is credited with saying, "If I have seen further than others, "it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." So, bring your unique perspective. Bring your unique ideas and questions and explore. Be confident, and know that your resouces are out there. Find those shoulders to stand upon. There is one important fact that you should remember above all. It is that librarians are experts in research. They obtain Masters Degrees in Library and Information Science.
