- [Voiceover] In this video, I'll discuss percent change, which is basically when we have a percent increase, or decrease. So I'll give you the formula to start off here. We always use the same formula for this. It's the difference divided by the original, multiplied by 100. So I'll show you what I mean. Let's say that the high temperature a day ago was 50 degrees and then the high temperature today is 60. So we've got two different temperatures, and we want to find out what is the percent increase from yesterday to today. Ok well, the difference between the two amounts looks like it's 10, and the original amount is 50, chronologically, and we do 10 over 50 times 100. So that will simplify to 1/5 times 100, 1/5 as a decimal is .2. So .2 times 100 is 20. So our answer is 20 percent. 20 percent increase from yesterday to today. It works the exact same way for a decrease. So if we had a decrease, let's say if yesterday's temperature was 60 and today's was 50, we would still do the same…
