- [Voiceover] So another thing that a lot of times will come up in word problems is the concept of rate. So, here we have a word problem, and we see that two people are racing, they're running. There's rate, there's time, and there's distance. So we use the equation sometimes for this kind of thing: distance equals rate times time. Just a handy thing to know. So let's see if we can set it up for this one, and it's - a lot of times, I think - good in a rate problem to have some sort of visual, so I'll kinda draw. Here's the track. All right, those are two lanes of the track, let's say. They're the same length. It's 100 meters. So for both distance equals rate times time equations here, the distance is the same. We're gonna have 100 meters. We need two equations because there's two different rates and two different times for these guys. So, let's see. If we picture this lane being George and this lane being Usain, well let's start with Usain because we have more information about him…
