Understanding passage-based reading questions

- Many high school students have difficulty at first with the SAT's reading passages because they're not really used to reading challenging non-fiction. In this video I will give you the basics of passage-based reading questions. So, these questions are really testing your comprehension of a passage. Passages are usually non-fiction, but a couple of them will be fiction. It's also a test of how an author uses language to accomplish his or her goals within a passage. So, what I mean by that is it might ask you what does this sentence accomplish within a passage or what does this paragraph function as? So, a really important... My favorite tip for passage-based reading is that you really have to be literal. You almost wanna think like a robot would think that's programmed to only make decisions about what's actually in front of it.
