What's the value of learning objectives?

- The purpose of Learning Objectives is twofold. First, let's take a look at it from a learner's perspective. Learning Objectives cue the learner about what to expect and what's expected of them. Learning Objectives orient the learner to what comes next. Learners want to know things like: What will I learn? What should I know? What should I focus on? And how does it apply to me personally? Learning is a mentally intensive task. By using learning objectives you're making it easier for the learner to concentrate. You're taking away the strain of trying to figure out what they are learning or why. You're doing this mental work for them by giving them learning objectives. Consider this: If learners have no learning objectives, they're likely to be wondering what and why, which means unnecessary distraction which takes away from their learning.
