Clip and mirror - Houdini Tutorial
From the course: Houdini Essential Training
Clip and mirror
- [Voiceover] Now we're going to take a look at how to clip and mirror geometry, so we can build symmetrical models where we don't have to do all the work to both sides. We can do work on one side of a model, clip it, and then mirror it so we have a full model where we've only had to work on one-half of it, and this is very useful for all sorts of asset building. And it's really nice in Houdini because we have a codally procedural non-destructive workflow, we can do this process and then go back upstream and keep doing edits that get applied to the later clipped and mirrored model. So I'm going to go into my little model object here. We've provided this really simple thing just to illustrate a model that where half of it has been worked on. Okay, so I'm going to hit the P-key, get my parameters up here. I'm going to go to my viewport, hit space bar three to go to front view. I'm going to turn off ghosting, so we're just looking at our object; hit H to zoom in. I'm going to turn on the…
