Geometry with VDBs

- [Instructor] In this video we're going to introduce the concept of manipulating geometry with VDBs in Houdini. And VDBs are a volume format and set of tools that have become an industry standard and are implemented in a bunch of different software environments. Houdini has a particular fabulous way of manipulating VDBs, and converting between different formats, from geometry to volumes and back. And I use this a lot for fusing geometry together in ways where I want that to happen, and it's a good time to show this now that we've created arrays of objects. So I'm going to open up our model area here, let's re-frame this up, and I've changed our copy set-up just a little bit. So we have this spike ball, and we have a bunch of copies and they're overlapping, and they're intersecting. And this was all fine and good, but there's often situations where I want to make one contiguous mesh out of a lot of objects like this.
