How to instance geometry to particles

- Instancing geometry and particles is a pretty common and useful technique. This could be anything as simple as a one polygon card that we're instancing on particles for a sprite to do its smoke effect, or it could be an animated piece of geometry for doing, let's say, a flock of birds. It can range to anything. I'm gonna show you how to set this up. First let's just make an object that we're gonna use to instance onto the particles. For this we're gonna make a platonic solid, so we're gonna go up to our shelf and click on Platonic Solid and drop that down in the scene. I'm gonna turn off the source particles and this torus_object1 for the moment just while we set this up. I'm gonna middle mouse click to reframe the network view a little bit, hit the P key to turn the parameters, and again to zero out these translates, 0 tab, 0 tab, 0.
