Importing Houdini files in to Maya

- Houdini has a fantastic built in renderer and it has great tools for shading and lighting and rendering, however if you're a Maya user, you may be more comfortable bringing assets you create in Houdini into Maya to do that work in here. So I've built a scene for us that we're gonna import some Alembic files in to so I'm just gonna open Scene, go to our chapter five Maya scenes folder, and I'm gonna open this 05_01_Start. And I have some shaders and lighting and a camera and stuff here already so we can just bring in our assets and start to make this look good really quickly. I'm gonna go under my Cache menu, Alembic cache, Import Alembic, I'm gonna go up to the chapter five folder and under Assets, first I'm gonna bring in the ROOM, get that loading, alright, there's our room. Now I'm gonna go Cache, Alembic, Import Alembic, let's bring in the CORE. Alright, cool, so there is our object in our room from Houdini easily brought in to Maya via Alembic files.
