Overview of the Houdini Engine in CINEMA 4D

- The Houdini Engine plug-in for Cinema 4D is part of the Cinema 4D installer package so when you install Cinema 4D it installs it in there. You also need to have Houdini installed separately which you'll have done and have that up and running and licensed as well. The way to load an asset into the Houdini Engine via Cinema 4D is to click on the Pipeline menu up here. Go into the Houdini Engine menu and you'll see there's a few different options and the one we're interested in is Load Asset. And this is where we can navigate to our asset files and actually load them in. You'll see there's a few different options in this menu as well. If you click on the Get Houdini Installer option, that will actually start a download from the side effects website of the proper Houdini version I have installed.
