Overview of the particle HDA in Maya
- For our next Maya example, we're going to look at how to take a particle system that's built in Houdini and use that within Maya, but before we do that, I want to take a quick moment to show you how to prep a few other nodes so we can have interoperability between Houdini and Maya with particle system. So here we have a subnet, this has already all been built for you, and I'm not going to show you all the specific details, but I just want to show you how we can build hooks so we can have Maya geometry drive a Houdini particle system via the Houdini engine. So let's just play this back real quick so we can see what we're working with. We have a simple tube in the middle of the screen that's emitting particles out from its center. Alright, great, so what we want to be able to do in Maya is be able to turn off that tube and plug in any arbitrary geometry we want from Maya so we can have a real loop of a feedback system going on. So I'm going to go into my PARTICLES_01 subnet, and you…
