Sun and sky lighting

- [Instructor] Now I'm going to show you how we can use Houdini's sun and sky lighting system. Most contemporary renderers have a version of this, and I find that it's a really great way to have just a starting point of really pretty lighting in a scene. So what I'm going to do is just hit the skylight button up here in the lights shelf, and there we go. We have two notes that get created. I'm going to drag these up here, over to my little lighting area up top. Okay, so let's see what we've got. First, we have a sunlight, and if we scroll up here we can see this is the same sort of modular light node we were using for all sort of different kinds of lights, and now this is set to sun. Then we also have a skylight which is actually just an environment light node that's built in in sky environment map. So now let's actually kind of start to see what this looks like in the view port.
