Understanding the POP Source node
- Several nodes got created automatically for us when we created this particle system. One of the most important ones is the POP source node because this controls a bunch of important parameters. We're gonna always wanna tweak for our particle system. I just wanna go and go through that and make sure you understand those various parameters because it's a critical one. We're gonna select our AutoDopNetwork and hit the "I" key to dive in there and then we're gonna go up here to our torus_object1 source node and we're gonna click on that, hit the "P" key and it's gonna open up those parameters. You can see to the left of the name that it's named it, Houdini. The actual node type is a POP source node. We have a bunch of different tabs here. The one we're gonna concern ourselves most about right now is the Birth tab because this controls how many particles get admitted and how long they live for and that's one of the main things you're dealing within a particle system because number one…
