Using the Mantra surface shader

- We're gonna take a look at shading in Houdini. We're gonna look at the Mantra's surface shader, which is Houdini's Uber Shader. We're gonna look at how to make instances of that shader, how to assign that shader geometry and how to change parameters on that shader. First, we need to create a shader. What we're gonna do is on the left side of the screen here, if it's not visible, we're gonna hit this plus sign and we're gonna then go to New Pane Tab type and choose Material Pallet. And this is where we can choose from some of the default shaders that Houdini has built in and then of course, if you had built your own custom shader or library or whatever, you could access those from here as well. And so, the shader we're concerned about mainly is this guy here, Mantra Surface. We wanna create a version of that shader and put it in our scene. There's a few different ways to do that.
