Using the exercise files

- Some of the videos in this course will not need one of our exercise files, but I suggest that you have the software open and follow along with Houdini. If you're a premium member of lynda.com, you can reference exercise files. So, we're gonna open up the exercise files folder which is sitting on the desktop here, and you can see we have a bunch of folders for our different chapters. Open up chapter one and you can see in here, at the bottom, we have two hip files. A hip file's just Houdini's standard file format, and then we have a bunch of other folders. Now these folders just represent Houdini's standard file structure, and all these folders can get automatically created for us, which I'll show you how to do later on in Houdini. Now for this course, most of these folders are actually just empty. We don't have a lot of extra associated files that we would have if we were building much more complex projects, but I wanted to include them so you got a sense of how to keep things organized in Houdini.
