Viewport and display modes

- [Voiceover] In this video, we're going to take a look at the different lighting and shading modes available in the Houdini Viewport. So if I go to this little icon here, it looks just like a little simple box, I'm going to click on that and this shows me my different Viewport shading modes. Currently, we're in Smooth Wire Shaded mode which is a really nice mode that takes the normals of the geometry into account and shows the smooth surfaces and then does a wireframe overlay on top of that. If I go to just Smooth Shaded, it's the same view but without the wireframe overlay. Now I'm going to go to Flat Wire Shaded mode, and you can see that the geometry looks more faceted in this mode and it just kind of does harsh normals on everything. Now if I go to Flat Shaded mode, same thing, just no wireframe on top of it. What looks smoothed and curved, for example on these tubes, in the smooth mode, now looks faceted because it's just taking the raw polygon sides into account. Alright, now…
