- [Instructor] How fast is the internet in your neck of the woods? Well, it depends on several things, the type of service you have or how the signal gets to you, the speed you pay for with your subscription, the amount of traffic on the network, and other factors, most of which are beyond your control. To measure the actual speed, you could use one of the many internet speed test websites. This one I've chosen here is Xfinity Speed Test at speedtest.xfinity.com, and I chose it mostly because it doesn't have a lot of advertising on the page. Run the test to see what speeds you're getting. Download speed at my location is 95.7 megabits per second and I'm paying for 120. The upload is 15.3. Now your upload speed is always going to be lower, and that's okay. On the internet, you typically receive more than you send. This test is affected when part of the internet is down.
