- [Instructor] Your laptop memorizes the various wireless networks you've connected to over time, remembering each one like a spy watching your every move and that's okay. The reason why wifi networks are memorized is so the laptop can quickly reconnect to them again in the future. To see the list, you open the settings app, press the Windows and I keyboard shortcut, choose Network and Internet, and then wifi. Now, if you don't see the wifi item, then your computer lacks a wireless network adapter. Also, this feature is primarily useful for laptops and portable Windows computers. Desktops don't roam around, so even if your PC has a wireless NIC, it's probably using just one wifi network. Choose manage known networks, and here's the list of wifi networks memorized by my laptop. You see some hotels, airports, restaurants, and cafes, and my own wifi network.
