- [Instructor] Alright, let's talk about planning an audit. It's important to make sure you plan this all out and follow some kind of process for planning it out because an audit can include a lot of things, and you want to make sure you take care of everything, and have it all thought out ahead of time. There are short-term planning objectives, what are we going to do this year, for example, and there's long-term planning. Well long-term planning is not only what are we going to do beyond this year, it's also where you take into consideration things like long-term mission of the organization, long-term goals. It's oftentimes where you take a risk-based approach to planning the audits and the activities for that coming-up period. The audit universe is a very important term when discussing things like the size and scope of an audit.
