Setting desktop power options

- [Instructor] Anchored to a desk, the typical PC has no need for a laptop-like battery, though it can have an uninterruptible power supply, or UPS attached. In this configuration, the desktop PC shares some power options with laptops. To review power option for a desktop PC press the windows and I keyboard shortcut to bring up the settings app, choose System, Power and Sleep. These options on the right determine when to turn off the display, and when to put the PC to sleep. If you have a UPS installed on a desktop system you also see the battery powered options here, and here. Otherwise, only the plugged in options appear. Now normally, you'd turn off the screen after a given period of inactivity, say 10 minutes as shown here, if you find the screen in going to sleep while you're using the PC, you can set a longer value.
