Tips for remote pair programming

- [Instructor] So you're going to hear me say this over and over in this course, I've seen collaborative coding go well and I've seen it go poorly. And one of the things that I see in collaborative sessions that go well is a focus on remembering that it's people who are doing the coding. So in particular I've seen in remote pair programming a difference between the success or failure of the sessions and it's centered around what I call being human. So it's really important, particularly when you're first starting to work with a remote pair programmer, that if possible when you start you greet your pair, you don't just start in on the code. And the best to greet your pair is to start with your video camera on so you guys can see each others faces. You talk a little bit about your day, how you're feeling. It's very tempting to just get right into the code and I've even done it, everyone's done it. You know you're stressed, you're in a hurry and then things kind of aren't going well…
