The biz value of collaborative coding

- [Instructor] Alright, we've taken a deep look at different types of collaborative coding. We've learned tips and information about how to make it successful. But let's be realistic, it's hard, it takes effort, and it doesn't always work. So why should you do it? Why shouldn't you just let programmers code on their own? What it really comes down to, team collaboration, and communication results in better quality. And this isn't just me talking. There are several studies that have actually proved this with data, and I'm going to refer you to one of them now. So this is a study that was done by Alistair Cockburn and Laurie Williams and it's called The Costs and Benefits of Pair Programming. I think it's a great read and it talks about measuring the differences between collaborative coding, in terms of the business results and working solo.
