- Welcome to service design and transition. This is our sixth video for the foundation course, and in this section, we're going to look at chapter five within The Standard, and this is the design and transition of new or changed services, and amazingly enough, we're going to see the elements of PDCA come up one more time. So, let's look at the requirements here for design and transition, and we have a set of general requirements, 5.1, on how to manage new or changed services. These general requirements focus strongly on the requirement that nothing happens without the authority of change management. So, right away we see how important the change management process is to the ongoing service delivery, as well as control of the SMS. So, the change activities associated with design and transition of new or changed services is going to include the assessment, the approval, the scheduling, and the reviewing of the success or failure of that change, either a process or a service.
