- [Narrator] So what is good? Maybe that's too big of a philosophical question for this type of course. Perhaps we can start from a slightly different angle. What types of projects can we work on, that would help people in their lives without a direct commercial return? Maybe again, that's a little bit too vague. Generally speaking, I would say that most people would like to work on some level of impact, with the work they do every day. In terms of impact, I would say this basically means that the work will have meaning, and contribute to something greater than themselves. How that impact can be measured, or how the task can be organized, can fall into a few different categories. For starters, are we going to base work around the number of hours or an outcome? It can be a bit easy to quantify the amount of time spent on a problem as a contribution, perhaps like spending one day a week creating visualizations…
