Browsing the web securely
- [Instructor] Many of us use the web extensively in our work for things like email, calendars and chat. We might log into customer relationship management or issue tracking tools on the web. Or we may need to do research or manage social communities using web tools. The web and web browsers are powerful tools that let us access information from around the world. But because of web browsers are a portal to so much of what we do, they also present security concerns we should be aware of. One technology that helps to protect data on the web is TLS or what used to be known as SSL. TLS encrypts the data that travels between your browser and a web server. Whenever you enter personal, financial or other sensitive information on a website, be sure to check that it's using a secure connection.
