- So in data science, there's so many different technical skills that you can master, that really set you apart. But from my perspective, it's the soft skills that I think really differentiate data scientists from their peers. And the reason being is that not all organizations are equipped to really understand the type of work that we do, and so there is a real demand for being able to sell and tell stories surrounding the work that you do. I've seen cases where, you know, really great technical work goes unappreciated because there wasn't someone there to sell the value of that work to the business. And similarly, if you're developing, you know, a really cool model, but you haven't fully understood the business need for that model, you might be in a position where you've developed something really cool that just isn't going to land and be deployed.
