- Hi, my name's Sam Cvetkovski, I'm the Manager of Data Science at Mindbody. As the manager of data science, I'm actually focused on our advanced analytics team. We focus on all aspects of the business from marketing to sales, to product, and try to help everybody be smarter and do their jobs better. So my background is actually applied math. And what that is is you're basically taking all of the same math classes as anyone would, calculus, statistics. And you're finding ways to actually put them in an application to the world. From my undergrad in applied mathematics, I actually found my way into a master's program in analytics. It was kind of accidental to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with math, but somebody said, "Hey, this analytics program will actually help you, take what you've learned and help give people insights about data and what to do with it."
