- [Instructor] The computer kingdom supports many graphics file formats. You'd think one would be enough but even beyond the common graphics file formats shown here, various imaging programs feature their own unique formats. A common task is to convert from one format to another. For example, you have a BMP image as your profile picture but the online service requests a PNG or JPEG. Rather than give up, convert the image, saving it in the new format. Fortunately, tools to help with a conversion are readily available in Windows 10. Here in this folder window, right-click on the file I want to convert. This is a BMP file and I want to save it as a PNG. Choose Open with Paint. Paint is one of the oldest Windows programs still around for photo editing and it makes a quick image file format conversion tool.
