- [Instructor] While an enterprise or organization will often provide VPN services in order to give employees or staff access to their own protected resources, there's another use case for VPN as well. Many people are concerned about whether the networks they use are trustworthy. Concerns often arise when using public WiFi, like the kind offered in coffee shops, hotels, conference centers, and other locations where many people use a network provided by someone they don't know. To give these users an extra level of security, there are companies that offer VPN access not to a specific protected set of resources, but just to somewhere else. From that other location, usually a set of servers in a data center, the customer's traffic then exits onto the internet, securing the network traffic from the customer's device through an untrusted network to wherever the traffic exits from.
