Configuring DNS
- What about the configuration of DNS? Well, it's a lot like DHCP. It's going to be a bit more challenging on the server side of the equation but both the client and the server configurations are not bad at all. So notice here in a Windows 10 client, there's many, many different ways we could access the DNS configuration for this device. We know one of them is in the settings and going into the properties of our network connection. And here you can see the DNS servers that are going to be utilized by this client. Now if we wanted to edit this information of course we could go into the edit as we discussed, we could go to a manual configuration and we could put in the preferred and alternate DNS values but that is not often done because of the fact that we are gaining that information from that wonderful DHCP that we love so much.
