- [Instructor] Windows automatically starts programs when you start the computer, as well as when you sign into your account. Some of these programs may cause distress. They may hinder PC performance, or they may just tick you off. To improve performance or rid yourself of an annoyance, you can disable the start-up programs. Bring up the Task Manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc. And if you see the minimized view as shown here, click More details. Choose the Startup tab. Here's a list of programs that start automatically when you start your computer and sign into windows. Each one could impact performance. So why not disable one or two you don't need. And finding what you don't need is the tough part. For example, the Microsoft OneDrive item is necessary to ensure that your files are synced with the cloud. And of course, any item that's already disabled doesn't start up automatically, which saves on resources. But if you…
