- [Instructor] So keep in mind, we have the notion or the concept of edge computing storage and this is storage that's going to happen at the device level, at the centralized cloud servers and perhaps at other points. So physical storage is some sort of system that's able to retain information over a long period of time. Sometimes it's called non-volatile data. In other words, once we push information to it, it is going to stay there until we remove it. So physical storage is just the same as it's been for years, same concept in edge computing. Databases allow us to organize physical storage systems in ways that are more useful to the business systems that access it. So database systems typically rely on physical storage to store information that the database retains and the database allows us to organize data in such a way that it's much easier to deal with than physical raw storage.
