- [Instructor] So configuration management is an extremely important concept when considering edge computing. Considering the fact that we're dealing with very complex configurations and if the configurations are changed, or altered, or not maintained, then things are going to start to go wrong, such as changing the memory picture within a particular device, the ability to change storage within a particular device. In doing so without updating a configuration management system to ensure that we're retesting, we're redeploying, and we understand that these changes have taken place. So on the device side we're dealing with applications that run on the particular device, that have to be configured, data, different security parameters, different operating system parameters, different hardware, different firmware, communicating with different sensors, and then finally, different networking.
