Effects of tampering
- [Narrator] There's one last effect of storage tampering, and that's a denial of service attack. I'm tampering with your files or the file system, and as I do so, as a side effect, take up the remaining space. When storage is file, you have to choose what data you throw away, either the data that's already stored or the new data being generated. Sometimes it's even worse stopping the system if you can't write data anymore. Similarly, if I can pull out a USB key, you might not be able to write data that you mean to write. And that would be wrong.
