- [Instructor] During election years, television and the internet are flooded with statistics. There's lots of discussion about polling data, voter sampling, margins of error and so many other polling issues. Let's go through some of the basics that might help you decode the political discussions around these statistical topics. Polls are developed and deployed by individual polling organizations. On occasion, two organizations may team up. By pooling together their resources, they hope to get more reliable results. Polls can done in many forms. In-person polls where a pollster questions an individual. On the phone where an individual may talk to a real person or a computer. This is called interactive voice response.
