- [Instructor] To get the most from the computer's primary storage device ensure that it's operating at peak efficiency. To do so you have a few tools available in the windows tool chest; error checking, defragmentation and cleanup. The good news is that most of these tools run automatically. For error checking, the tool is called check disc, press the Windows + E keyboard shortcut to summon a File Explorer window and choose This PC from the navigation pane. Right click on the media you want to check such as Drive C here, choose Properties. And then in the Properties dialog box click the Tools tab, Check button. Now for some types of drive checking is unnecessary, such as this drive. Otherwise you can proceed with a check which includes options to repair. Defragmentation is also handled on the Tools tab. Click the Optimize button. This window informs you of the computer's storage media current optimization status.…
