- [Instructor] As a company that has to comply with CCPA, you may be wondering when you have to be ready and what your security responsibilities may be within reasonable security measures. There are several key considerations you'll want to take action on. The California Consumer Protection Act was signed into law on June 28th, 2018 as Resolution AB-375. Businesses were given time to become compliant with the law. The law became effective on January 1st, 2020. This is known as the compliance date, which means businesses were expected to have compliance measures in place by that time. Once the law became effective, the attorney general spent some time creating guidelines and expectations around the law. As of July 1st, 2020, with the guidelines in place, the attorney general's ability to enforce the law began. This is known as the enforcement date, and means that your business can be penalized for non-compliance. So…
