From the course: CompTIA Security+ (SY0-601) Cert Prep: 8 Network Security Design and Implementation

Network security

- [Mike] Networks carry every type of sensitive information imaginable. From customer credit card transactions to secret product development plans, almost every piece of confidential information handled by our organizations travels over a network at some point. Networks also provide a pathway into our information systems, allowing legitimate users to work remotely, but at the same time, providing an opening for attackers seeking to gain a foothold within our infrastructure. Cyber security professionals spend significant amounts of time designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring network security controls, and as a result, network security is an important topic in the CompTIA Security+ curriculum. Hi, I'm Mike Chapple, and I'd like to invite you to watch my course on network security design and implementation. It's part of a 10 course series preparing you for the Security+ exam. I hope that you'll join me as we explore the world of network security.
