- [Narrator] Did you know that according to Forbes, up to 80% of open jobs aren't advertised? There are a lot of hidden jobs out there, and the best way to find them is through the people you know. But if you're coming from a non-cybersecurity job, it may seem tough to connect with people in a field you're not familiar with. Luckily, there are simple ways you can build a network of people in cybersecurity. One of the best ways to connect with cybersecurity people is at security conferences and meetups. There, you'll find a high density of people who are active in the cybersecurity field. If you live in or near a large town or city chances are good that security events are happening there. Do some research online and ask the IT and cybersecurity people you already know to find security events that you can attend.
