- Linux has its set of networking tools similar to Microsoft Windows, and some of the commands are even the same or very similar. For instance, IP config in Windows is similar to IF or interface config in Linux. And here we see at the top the ethernet address of 192.168.21.158 with a slash 24 sub-net. And there's our broadcast address. It also shows the IPV6 address which is the same as Microsoft and that it shows both a V4 and V6 address. Underneath that, we see the loop back address and the broadcast, multicast address at the bottom. So it definitely shows different information than it does in the Microsoft version. Including, it shows that there are transmit and receive packets but it shows that there's no errors. So it also is giving us an idea if there's any kind of problem with our connection from our ethernet card to our switch. Similar to the route print command in Microsoft Windows we have the IP route…
