- How do you prepare for a data science case study? All you usually get is a dataset and some instructions, which might be vague. Pursuing a good result in a time crunch can be challenging. In this video, I'll walk you through some strategies of how you can prepare for a data science case study. The first thing you need to know is the purpose of a case study. It's to see how you do as an employee of the company, without you actually being an employee. A case study may involve messy data, which may or may not include a data dictionary, a vague open-ended business question, which may have no solution, or a presentation of results to a group of people, which may or may not be data scientists.
