- [Instructor] Here's a recently opened file list in Word, which looks similar to other Office applications. You choose a file to open it. And if you don't want a file on this list, you right click, and choose remove from list. And if you detest the idea of recently opened files completely, you can suppress them in any Office application. From the file tab, choose options, advanced, and under the display heading, choose zero for recent documents or workbooks, or whatever the item actually says. Now I like recent documents, so I'm going to go ahead and keep my 50 listed here, and click OK. And if you truly detest recent documents, you'll be annoyed to find out that the buttons on the task bar also feature them. Right click on a button to see what's called a jump list.
